Century Dental looks forward to helping your whole family have good oral health. Parents should plan to have their children come in for a checkup beginning at 3-years-old. That way we can help you instill good dental hygiene practices in your children at a young age. Toothaches can be very troubling to a child and sometimes the tooth fairy isn’t up to the task of making it all better.
That’s why Century Dental is one of the best family dentists in NEPA.
Two ways we can help your family’s dental health:
Sealants are a great way to protect young people against tooth decay and cavities of the back teeth (molars). These are the teeth that are most vulnerable to cavities and decay because they are used in the chewing process, and are the most difficult to reach and clean. Molars first come in at around 5-7 years of age, with a second set coming in between the ages of 11-14. It is best to have a sealant placed when the molars first come in to ensure they are protected early.
Active young people sometimes have accidents involving the mouth, especially during school and extracurricular sports. We recommend using a mouth guard to protect the teeth. They can be very simple or they can be very fashionable. The choice is up to you. Our staff will be happy to show you how mouth guards can help. a description here.
